Hello Group 1! I created this so we can use something besides D2L to communicate. So here are my thoughts on the essays...
The samples selected seemed quite different keeping the idea of structure in mind. Sample 3 seemed to really think of structure within the true definition of what structure means, relations between the parts or elements of something complex (dictionary.com), while thinking about how McGonigal formatted her essay. Sample 4 spoke of structure in a way of McGonigal's thoughts on collective intelligence and by using quotes from McGonigal's essay and even comparing her work to their own medical background.
I'm wondering if one speaks of structure in a better way? Or are both essays correct, just thinking in different ways? This is what I think, and find it interesting that we are all assigned the same thing but can interpret Andy's instructions in hundreds of different ways. This, in a sense, is another "complexity" McGonigal seems to be describing, the whole, and the web of communication and creativity that can be made out of one direction.
What do you guys think so far?

Just wondering why there aren't any posts yet? If you haven't done this before I'd be happy to help if you need it. Let me know.
Both of the samples selected took on a different view about the topic.
Sample 3 focused more on th etopic of structure and how it relates to McGonigal's writing. I agreed with them on the point of including visuals into research. I think that it allows those who are more visually stimulated to get more involved in the writing. I also liked how they related the structure of the writing to a game itself. I had not thought of that point initially but after reading it, I also could see the same structure.
Sample 4 focused more on collective intelligence and the hive mind. They seemed to not directly really relate to the subject of structure and the essay but rather goes over how McGonigal uses definitions and examples, while they also pull quotes from the essay to support their opinion.
I agree with you when you say that it is interesting that we are all assigned one assignment but all interpret it in a different way. In Sample 4, they seem to relate what they are interested in to how the interpreted the essay. Do you think everyone interprets information based on their interest? Or maybe it has more to do with experience?
As a side note, I am new to blogging so I wasn't sure if I had to comment on your posting or what exactly I had to do. I apologize for the late post!
